Progress is great if you share it with others, so I’m announcing the Ascension 2.0 public alpha | beta program today.

Today my friend Gleb Dolgich (@glebd) released his brand new app BadPlastic on the Mac App Store. It’s the perfect tool for tracking your credit card debt and comes with a sexy UI, definitely worth checking out. The about box Gleb is using in here is the one I designed for Ascension 2 (SVEpicAboutBox).

A syntax highlighting text editor for Mac OS X. Beautiful. Contemporary. All you ever needed. Product availability? When it’s done.
As you may know, right now we are very busy in development of FooTweet, our upcoming Twitter client for Mac. It will come with two different UI’s, a compact and extended one, for which we are going to use Alex Rozanski’s awesome PXSourceList control. Unfortunately PXSourceList is not Garbage Collector compatible, until now. I revised the code to make it fully GC-compliant, but it will still work in non GC-enviroments. This is achieved with preprocessor directives that will invoke the appropiate code, depending whether Garbage Collector is enabled or not. Bon Appetit, have fun with it!
Recent screenshot of my upcoming Mac OS X project Ascension. Some words about it’s progress: all colors of the ASCII content view are customizable now, including the hyperlink colors. Ascension will come with different themes and some cool retro styles known from the 8-bit era. What you see above will probably be the standard theme. We got a new toolbar and I prepared a variety of user preferences. I still have no release date for you guys, anyway most features I had on my version 1.0 roadmap are already implemented. Exercise patience young Padawan, we’re closer than ever before.
